General Data Protection Regulation GDPR

The regulations concerning the processing of personal data imposed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also apply to Stichting Mortelmans vzw. We therefore do everything we can to safeguard your privacy and hereby declare that we will always handle the personal data you provide with care and transparency.
Below is a brief explanation of our processing activity and the purposes for which we use your personal data.

Purposes
We keep your personal data in order to inform you about the offer of the non-profit organisation (in particular the past and future activities, new books, postcards, …) by means of circulars and invitations. Only the personal data necessary to fulfil these purposes are also effectively stored (being your full name, address, e-mail address and possibly your telephone or mobile number).

Distribution to third parties
We do not pass on your personal data to third parties, unless this is necessary to achieve our objectives. For example, we call on a third party to print your address details on the envelopes so that you can receive our circulars and/or invitations by post.

Security
We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data and to guarantee its confidentiality. We always use an antivirus scanner, secure files, use a password and user name on the computer systems and make sufficient backups to protect your data against infringements, loss and unlawful processing.

Retention period
We will not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which they were provided. Personal data that no longer offer any added value, for example when you no longer register as a member, will not be stored for more than five years.

Your rights
You always have the right to inspect, correct or delete your personal data that are processed by us. We then undertake to immediately provide, amend or permanently remove your data from our systems.

Complaints
If you have a complaint, we would like to ask you to contact us as soon as possible. Moreover, you always have the right to submit a complaint to the Data Protection Authority (www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be). This is an independent body that ensures that your data is processed correctly.

We would like to ask you to give us permission to process the personal data you provide, in order to keep you informed about past and upcoming events, as well as about our new initiatives to put the Mortelmans family even more on the map.
